This medal commemorates the celebrated Swedish victory at the Battle of Narva on 20 November 1700, one of the earliest and most dramatic engagements of the Great Northern War. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the young Charles XII led the Swedish army to a decisive triumph over Russian forces besieging Narva. Designed by renowned Augsburg medallist Philipp Heinrich Müller.
