This medal commemorates the death of King Karl XII of Sweden, who was killed by a projectile while besieging Fredriksten fortress in Norway on 30 November 1718. His body was later returned to Stockholm and buried at Riddarholmen Church on 26 February 1719. Struck in silver, the medal features a poetic Lutheran epitaph, reinforcing the king's faith and legacy. Engraved by Johann Memmius in Stettin, this type is part of a widely circulated memorial series.
