DEN SOM VINNER TIDEN. HAN VINNER ALT.
(He who wins time wins all).
Daniel Tilas (1712-1772) was a Swedish baron, mining councillor, county governor, and heraldist. The ore bucket with the Tilas arms refers to the mining administration of the period, while the motto “He who wins time wins all” reflects a practical and timeless eighteenth-century sentiment. The token is especially interesting as a coin-like game token, struck in Avesta on a flan comparable to those used for 1 öre silvermynt copper coinage.
