(Son of Casimir, Duke of Kuyavia; thrice exiled and returned to his homeland; he gathered and united the scattered parts of the kingdom; died in 1333 at the age of 73, after 13 years of reign, on March 2).
Władysław I Łokietek (c.1260-1333) was King of Poland. After years of exile and internal struggle, he succeeded in reuniting the fragmented Polish lands and consolidating royal authority. His coronation in 1320 marked the formal restoration of the Polish Kingdom, laying the foundation for the later strength and continuity of the state.
