50x66cm. In modern frame.
Framed printed award diploma issued by the St. Petersburg Society of Farmers. Awarded at the Agricultural and Handicraft Exhibition in Verro in 1912 to the peasant Anna Rästas, with a silver medal for a collection of women’s woven handicrafts. Decorative design in the Art Nouveau manner with elements of the pseudo-Russian style, characteristic of the period, featuring an allegorical female figure, agricultural motifs, and an elaborate ornamental border. Printed after a 1912 design by Konstantin Izenberg.
A visually impressive and well-preserved exhibition diploma, combining documentary and decorative value. Such certificates reflect the activity of provincial agricultural and handicraft exhibitions in the late Russian Empire, and this example would be especially appealing both to collectors interested in the history of Estonia and to admirers of early 20th-century design. Despite the fact that the wooden frame requires restoration, the piece remains of clear interest as an attractive and characteristic work of the period.
