The 1933 New York-Kaunas flight was a historic, non-stop transatlantic journey undertaken by Lithuanian-American pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas in a Bellanca CH-300 Pacemaker aircraft named "Lituanica". Taking off from New York on July 15, 1933, they aimed to fly to Kaunas, Lithuania, to promote Lithuanian aviation, but crashed near Soldin, Germany (now Pszczelnik, Poland) on July 17, just 650 kilometers short of their destination, after 37 hours and 11 minutes in the air.
