(“Commemorative token for the 10th anniversary of Lāčplēsis Day, 2–11 November”). 


Lāčplēsis Day is observed annually on 11 November in Latvia. It commemorates the victory of Latvian forces over the West Russian Volunteer Army under Pavel Bermondt-Avalov during the Latvian War of Independence in 1919. The day is dedicated to honoring the bravery and sacrifice of Latvian soldiers. Its name refers to the national epic hero Lāčplēsis, symbolizing strength and resistance. Traditionally, the holiday is marked by ceremonies, military commemorations, and candlelight tributes.
