Tin-lead alloy medals are rarely found in excellent condition, as the metal is prone to oxidation and easily susceptible to mechanical damage. 

Obv.: Bust of Peter I right, in laurel wreath with bow; cuirass decorated with arabesques.

The events at Perevolochna in June 1709 marked the final phase of Russia’s victory over Sweden following the Battle of Poltava. The remnants of the Swedish army under General Adam Ludwig Lewenhaupt were surrounded and forced to capitulate to Russian forces on the Dnieper River. This surrender effectively ended Sweden’s campaign in the region and secured a decisive strategic advantage for Russia in the Great Northern War.
