Khorezm People's Soviet Republic (Russia) 100 Roubles AH 1339 (1921)

5.25g. VF/VF.

Obv.: Crescent and 6-pointed star in centre, denomination “yuz manat” and date above, legend “zarb fulus Khwarezm shuralar qarari ilan” below.

Rev.: Denomination in Russian, arms below.

Bitkin 4; KM Y 17; Nastich, Schuster X81; Album 3089 R. Rare!

After the fall of the Khivan Khanate, the Khorezm People’s Soviet Republic issued a limited series of copper and billon coins struck in Khiva between 1921 and 1923.

Denominations followed the traditional tanga standard, with Arabic inscriptions and Hijri dates (1339–1341).

Coins were crudely struck from local metal stock and show transitional designs between Khanate issues and early Soviet symbols.
