20.55g. UNC/UNC. Silver.
The so-called Konstantin Rouble of 1825 is among the greatest rarities of Russian numismatics. Struck in extremely limited numbers at the St. Petersburg Mint after the unexpected death of Emperor Alexander I, the coin bears the portrait and name of his brother Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich, who briefly appeared as heir before abdicating in favor of Nicholas I. Only a handful of examples are known today, mostly held in major museums, with just a few pieces in private collections. Its unique historical background and extreme rarity make the Konstantin Rouble one of the most desirable and valuable coins of Imperial Russia.
