Finland (Russia) Bronze Prize Medal ND (Late 19th - early 20th century) - Vasa County Agricultural Society - NGC MS 62 BN

Medalier: G. Loos (signed G. LOOS below the pedestal on obverse).

Obv.: Allegorical composition representing agricultural prosperity. In the center, a classical female figure (Ceres) stands on a pedestal holding laurel wreaths. At left, a farmer leads two horses; at right, a peasant woman stands with a cow and a calf. Below are agricultural tools including a plow and scythe.

Rev.: Finnish-language inscription in four lines within an ornate agricultural wreath of oak, laurel, and grain. At top, a leaping stag; at bottom, a steam threshing machine, farming tools, horse, and crops.
