This silver medal, designed by F. W. Hörnlein in 1916, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Freiberg Mining Academy. It features conjoined left-facing busts of Prince Regent Xaver and King Friedrich August III on the obverse, symbolizing their patronage of the academy.
