Obv.: Depicted in full-length is the figure of an Angel - representing Mourning Greece, who holds a laurel wreath in one hand and a horn in the other, and has symbolically raised her arms, pointing to the ruins of the exploded city, where the last remaining defenders perished by blowing themselves up.
Rev.: The inscription ΤΗ. ΕΝ ΜΕΣΟΛΟΓΓΙΟΥ ΦΡΟΥΡΑ Μ ΕΥΓΝΩΜΩΝ ΠΑΤΡΙΣ 1826-1926 - 'To the Guard of Messolonghi, the Grateful Homeland 1826-1926', surrounded by a laurel wreath.
