24.80g. VF/VF+. Despite signs of circulation, remains an attractive example with old patina.
Small head type. No dots between "СПБ".
Bitkin 233 R1; 30 roubles according to Petrov.
Very rare.
The so-called "waist-length" ruble of 1741 is one of the rarest and most distinctive portrait types in the history of Russian Imperial coinage. Issued in the earliest months of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna’s reign, the coin features an unusual half-length portrait showing the Empress with shoulders turned slightly forward, visible hands, and elaborate court dress — a striking departure from the conventional profile busts used on Russian coins of the period.
