(The second son of Jagiełło; he restored Prussia to the kingdom, having freed it from the Teutonic yoke with the consent of its inhabitants, and made it a province; died at Grodno in 1492 at the age of 66, after a reign of 45 years, on June 7).
Casimir IV Jagiellon - Kazimierz IV Jagiellończyk (1427-1492) was King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, ruling territories corresponding to modern Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and parts of Ukraine. His reign was marked by the Thirteen Years’ War against the Teutonic Order, which resulted in the incorporation of Royal Prussia into the Polish Crown and significantly strengthened Poland’s position in the Baltic region.
