Cross pattée with beaded border; at center, crowned monogram of Nicholas II. On the four arms of the cross, inscriptions:
ЗА / ВЪРУ / ЦАРЯ / ОТЕЧЕСТВО
(For Faith, Tsar, and Fatherland).
The badge of the State Militia was approved on 4 March 1895 during the reign of Nicholas II. It was issued to participants of the mobilization structure of the Russian Empire’s militia formations, reflecting the government’s efforts to modernize reserve and auxiliary forces in the late Imperial period.
