The anniversary was marked throughout the Russian Empire with official celebrations, ceremonies, monuments, and a wide range of commemorative objects intended to emphasize dynastic continuity from Tsar Mikhail Feodorovich, the first Romanov ruler, to Emperor Nicholas II.
